Assignment 4: Mental Health PSA

July 30th, 2010

This Assignment was really personal to me. As someone who suffers from Depression, I think it is very important for others to know about mental health issues. I wanted the general public to know that people can be sick without looking physically sick.

Assignment 4 Brainstorm

July 27th, 2010

So for my PSA, I know I want to do something involving the stigma of prescription pills. I think a lot of the time the general public will assume that because someone takes prescription pills they are somehow less than everyone else, whether it be less cool or less smart or less able bodied. I want to show people that prescription pills help level the playing field, and that they’re not always abused by their users.

Assignment 3 Outline

July 20th, 2010

Jenee and I are doing out “How To” video on bi-racial hair, specifically on how to manage and style it. We’re almost to the point where we’re to start to film. Here’s our outline :

How to Deal With Bi-Racial Hair

Intro: Kim & Jenee wondering why their hair won’t look like the girls in the magazines.  Kim is a little child; Jenee is her mother giving her a lesson on how to deal with her bi-racial hair.

Kim: “Mom, how come my hair doesn’t look like hers?”

Jenee: “You’re not like her honey, you have bi-racial hair.”

Kim: “Do you have bi-racial hair momma?”

Step One: Realize that you have bi-racial hair

- Skit over YouTube video

- “Bi-Racial Hair”

Step Two: Review possible hair styles & play with your options

-       Braids

-       Curly

-       Straight

-       Ponytail/Bun

-       Half-Up and Half-Down (Kim wants this!)

Step Three: Wash your hair, make sure that it’s clean and manageable

-       Shampoo, Condition, Leave it in, Brush, Condition, Brush, Rinse, Condition

Step Four: Comb it out, you cannot style hair that is tangled.

-       I’m not talking about that cute detangle with the spray

-        “WORK IT OUT!”

Step Five: For example, if you chose half-up. You will first need materials!

-       The function for this hair style is y=(x+y+z)/2

-       Pro-Style Gel (X)

-       Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion (Y)

-       Hair (Z)

-       By the way, hair is represented by the variable z for a reason!

  • Did you know that if there isn’t enough Zinc in your hair, you could suffer from hair loss?

Step Six: Moisturize hair with gel and foam to hair (Add)

Step Seven: Part hair through the middle (Sum, then Divide)

Step Eight: Tie up the top part into a ponytail

Step Nine: Check yourself out, and you’re DONE! (:
