Assignment 3- How to be social at smash

July 20th, 2010

HOW TO BE SOCIAL IN SMASH

Selina Villanueva (the outcast)

Glen Ramos (the socialite)

(Glenina Ramosnueva)

Where we are going to film-

- Film in class the kid being lonely

- Then at the dorms where we can interact with other smash kids get footage of an activity

- Also lunch dining hall

- In my dorm room

Narrator hey you!

Selina-who me?

Narrator –yea you

Are you tired of being copped up in your room?

Selina- well kinda

Narrator-don’ t you want to go out? And hang out with your fellow scholars?

Selina-yea I am not very social

Narrator-why not?

Selina- well I am kinda shy so It’s scary for me

Narrartor-aww don’t be scared I will send someone to help you

Tink!

Glen-woah were am i?

Selina- turns away

Glen-hi! My name is glen what’s yours?

Selina-ummm my name is …….

Glen-sorry what was that?

Selina-umm selina

Glen-hi are you ok?

And there the journey begins in finding comrades

Get to know your fellow smashers (all years)

In order of first arrival at smash

-        interact with the people in your suite, RA group, and in your class

  • they are the ones you will spend all your time with since you will be living with them

-       remember to sit with people at breakfast, lunch, or dinner

  • when you sit alone, it excludes you from other people and people from another program may come and sit next to you

-        keep in mind to say yes if someone wants to walk to class

  • walking with someone to class lets you get to know a person better and possibly create a better friendship with that person

-       consider hanging out with people every now then during free time

  • when your alone in your room, it gets very quiet and it can get boring

-       always be polite to people

  • being polite and kind to people is always a plus and it makes people feel better about being around you

-       lastly, once you make friends, don’t be afraid to make more friends

Meyer Sound Field Trip

July 5th, 2010

The Meyer Sound Field Trip is a field trip that all 3rd years will be attending on Tuesday July 6. This trip is one that all 3rd years are excited to attend and we all hope to see amazing things and sites. With this opportunity, I plan to make my documentary on based on this field trip. I plan to interview 3rd years before and after the field trip. Also, I plan to interview some people who we meet on the field trip.

Questions I may ask:

(scholars before the field trip)

What kind of things are you expecting to see on this field trip?

What are you hoping to see on this field trip?

What do you think this field trip is about?

(scholars after the field trip)

What did you think about the field trip?

What did you learn that you didn’t already know?

How has this field trip changed the way you think about technology?

(people at the Meyer Sound Field Trip)

What do you do here?

What kind of things does your job entail?

How does what you do improve technology?

What inspired you to do the job that you do today?
