How To Project – How to Plan a Party

July 30th, 2010

This how to video was created in order to have fun while showing others how to have fun.  We wanted to show the fun side of planning a party while also showing the serious side as well.  We had to incorporate math into the aspect, so we jumbled in some odd facts about calendars, saving money and other ideas.

#3: How-To Video

Assignment 3: How-To Video

July 27th, 2010

Kim and I are doing out “How To” video on bi-racial hair, specifically on how to manage and style it. We were inspired by a YouTube video in which a young lady expressed her feelings toward her hair through poetry.  Her ideas were moving, and really pushed this video forward.  As first generation “mixed” in both of our families, we decided to do a how-to video on how to deal with our bi-racial hair. This is a serious topic taken at a light glance in order to portray the emotion behind our hair.  Here’s our outline :

How to Deal With Bi-Racial Hair

Intro: Kim & Jenee wondering why their hair won’t look like the girls in the magazines.  Kim is a little child; Jenee is her mother giving her a lesson on how to deal with her bi-racial hair.

Step One: Realize that you have bi-racial hair

Step Two: Review possible hair styles & play with your options

Step Three: Wash your hair, make sure that it’s clean and manageable

Step Four: Comb it out, you cannot style hair that is tangled.

Step Five: For example, if you chose half-up. You will first need materials!

Step Six: Do your hair

Assignment 3 – Cafeteria food

July 22nd, 2010

This is me, Moneel, and James’s script for our third assignment:

How to pick good cafeteria food

Green screen someone in in front of still image.

Intro: Show one of us walk into the cafeteria and freak out at all the selections of food

O fortuna plays4

“Has this ever been you? Well then, this video is for you!”

Forest: someone in cafeteria

Tree: close up on food items

Bark: Close up on person’s reaction

This video is to help people that eat at cafeterias eat food

Step 1: Step into the Cafeteria and grab your tray and appropriate utensils.

Tip: don’t freak out at all the food available, you need to have something to put that food on first.

Forest: Walking towards utensils

Tree: At utensil stand

Bark: Hand grabbing utensils

Step 2: Evaluate what we call the “variable selections” that are there for your meal time.

Tip: The salad bar, fruit bar, sandwich bar, and pizza stand never changes so don’t bother looking there.

Forest: All selections

Tree: Variable selections

Bark: Single item from variable

Science part – Fruits and veggies have high contents of cellulose, fiber, which helps your digestives system.

Step 3: Once you have seen the selections, decide what you feel like eating that meal.

Tip: Always try to have at least one or two fruits/veggies per meal. Pick up a salad or some fruit on your way to the lines.

Forest: You in cafeteria

Tree: You at fruit stand

Bark: Picking a fruit

Step 4: Get in line and wait.

Tip: If someone tries to cut you, kindly show them where the back of the line is.

Step 5: Ask the cafeteria worker politely for whatever food you would like

Tip: Don’t be afraid to ask for more! If they simply didn’t give you enough tater tots, ask for another scoop.

Step 6: Get a drink from the drink stand

Tip: Try to stay away from soda as many times in a day as you can.

Step 7: Sit down with some friends and enjoy!

Congratulations! You have successfully acquired your meal! Stay tuned for “How to pick the right desert”

Jenee: “You’re not like her honey, you have bi-racial hair.”

Kim: “Do you have bi-racial hair momma?”

Step One: Realize that you have bi-racial hair

Step Six: Moisturize hair with gel and foam to hair (Add)
